Background and Service

From Rehovot, Nimrod is a dedicated IDF tank crew member. On October 7, 2023, he was serving as gunner in a tank stationed near Nahal Oz alongside Commander Omer Neutra and crewmates Shaked Dahan and Oz Daniel. Their tank was attacked, three crewmates were killed, and Nimrod was abducted into Gaza.

Military service

The last known sighting occurred in early March 2025, when Nimrod appeared—recognizable by a recent raven tattoo—in a Hamas-released proof-of-life video showing final moments before other hostages were separated. He expressed love and reassurance to his family through released testimonies: “I am okay. Don’t worry. I love you.” 

Captivity Reports

Released hostages recount inhumane treatment: shackled in a cage, harsh interrogation, exposure to disturbing scenes, untreated medical issues including ear infection and body rash—yet Nimrod remained caring toward others.

His parents, Yehuda and Vicky, have led relentless campaigns—rallies in Rehovot.

Interests & Personality

Described as enjoying music, as well as attending parties with friends. 

Gentle and sensitive: Known for his kind, introverted nature. He often played the role of “peacekeeper” among siblings and friends, displaying emotional maturity beyond his years. 

Culinary tastes: A fan of his mother’s cakes, schnitzel with mashed potatoes—a comfort food that grounded family memories. Enjoyed hiking and spending time in nature. Family walks and countryside hikes during Pesach were cherished traditions—now poignant memories for his loved ones.
