Background & Family

Raised in Kibbutz Kfar Aza with his twin brother Gali, Ziv was known for his gentle, reserved nature and sharp sense of humor. Together, the twins worked as lighting technicians at Sincopa 2002 and played on their kibbutz soccer team, the “Foxes of Kfar Aza”. They shared a love for soccer—particularly supporting Maccabi Tel Aviv and Liverpool FC—and were deeply devoted to their family, including two older brothers, Liran and Idan, and their parents, Talia and Doron.

During the Hamas attack on Kfar Aza, Ziv was sheltering alone at home when militants set fire to his house and abducted him along with Gali from the “young generation” neighborhood.

Status in Captivity

Ziv is one of only two remaining hostages from Kfar Aza and has been held separately from his twin since the fall of 2023. Former hostages and released information confirm he is alive, though the family has not received recent direct communications.

Personality

While Gali is seen as more outgoing and proactive, Ziv’s strength lay in steadfast support—he was the quieter half of the duo, standing by Gali’s side in solidarity and action. Their close bond earned them the family nickname “Twin Power.”
